. >> thank you. >>> developing news out of guatemala. at least 39 people are dead after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake. the quake struck off the southwest coast of guatemala this morning shaking buildings as far away as mexico city. reports indicate that the dead are from the mountain village of san marcos. the village is 80 miles from the epicenter. it suffered the most damage including 30 collapsed homes. >>> recovery in the northeast thrown a curve. a nor'easter threatening the area with a repeat of some of the misery that superstorm sandy brought last week. snow is already falling heavily in connecticut and north new jersey. the rain, wet snow, strong wind will certainly setback the clean-up damage from sandy. thousands of people in the low- lying neighborhoods have been warned to clear out again. cbs 5 is partnering with the red cross to help victims of hurricane sandy. tomorrow, we will be asking all you viewers to join us and donate. our special hotline will be open running from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. >>> what's happening in the bay area can't compare to what's happening on the east coast
